Design Services

What kind of graphic design services do you offer?

Thanks for asking! I don't have a niche focus currently. I center my work on the following types of design:

  • Logos

  • Branding

  • Print (Brochures, Flyers, Magazines, Business Cards, Postcards, etc)

  • Digital Displays

  • Social Media Content

  • Illustration

  • Marketing

  • Web Banners

  • Trade Show Booths

  • Signage

  • Stationery

  • Vector

Don't see what you're looking for on this list? I may have designed something you are looking for and don't have it explicitly listed here or shown in my work. Contact me still!

Do you offer print design services or only digital designs?

I offer both! See my work for examples of what I have done in both worlds.

Pricing & Billing

Do you charge hourly or day rates?

That depends! Currently, I do charge hourly for recurring clients. However, if you are looking for a one-off project/design then that would require a day rate. I require half of the rate upfront as a sign of goodwill.

How do you bill clients?

I use Wave! Every invoice is virtual and this process allows for you to pay online using any major cards, apple pay, or even straight from your bank! The process is user-friendly and easy to understand if you are unfamiliar with Wave.

Do you charge per revision? Are there hidden fees?

Nope! I only charge hourly or per project. Now, that is within reason. If you request revisions while paying hourly then those revisions will be reflected in the final invoice. If you request revisions and I am billing you per project then the amount of revision requests will depend. For example, 2 revision requests is fine. 200 revision requests will require a re-evaluation of the project and payment.

Do you offer recurring billing?

Yes, I do!

What is recurring billing?

Think of recurring billing like a subscription, but to my graphic design service. At the end of each month you are charged a set amount. This helps you on your end with bookkeeping so you know what to expect to pay per month. Here's an example. Let's say you estimate the workload to be 15 hours a week. So, we take 15 hours and multiply that by 4 to get the total hours for a month. I'm not a great math person, but that should be 60 hours. Now let's multiple 60 by a rate I could charge (let's say I charge $30/hour)  and that equals out to $1,800.

The great thing about recurring billing aside from knowing the monthly cost is the 5% discount I offer. So, add a 5% discount to that $1,800 and you will end up with $1,710 per month. Whether I go over, under, or equal to the 60 hour monthly estimate, you still get charged the same amount. This will all be reflected in any contract we negotiate. See above for how I bill & invoice clients.

How often do you review your billing & hourly charges?

Every 6 months! During that time, I review the quantity and quality of work and whether my pricing needs to increase or remain the same.

Communication

You're deaf. How do we communicate?

Telepathic waves. Kidding. I wear hearing aids so I am able to converse with you orally like everyone else! No need to learn ASL or telepathic communication.

What is the process between the designer (me) and client (you).

Good question. This mostly depends on you and what you are looking for. If you are looking for a one time project designer then the process is fairly straightforward. We'd likely set up a virtual meeting to talk about the project where I can gather more information on what you are looking for. From there I'd tackle the project and send drafts your way to get an idea on direction. I NEVER get to the final version of designs without multiple draft iterations being approved by the client. Once approved, I send you the files with edits made and we move on our merry way.

If you are looking to outsource some design work on a weekly basis then we would need a more formal process of meetings, paperwork, brand file sharing, and so on. This would require a deeper understanding into your company culture, values, staff, etc. The exact process here depends on your side and the software you use (ex. Trello, Monday.com, Asana, Google Drive, Microsoft, etc).

Remember that communication is key and I pride myself on clear communication with all clients. The process does vary from client to client so please reach out and we can create a more formal communication plan.

What is the best way to communicate with you during a project?

You will have my email, phone number, and any other necessary forms of communication once we begin working together. You can email, call, text, or send a carrier pigeon! Do note, I respond fastest to text then email then calls. Responses are typically within a few hours to 2 business days max.

Do you offer meetings during the design process? How often can I expect updates on progress?

Yes I do. We can have meetings however often or sparse your heart desires. I am able to meet on platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and any other you might use! If you'd like to receive updates every two days then you'll get updates every two days. If you don't want updates until the next draft is ready then you won't hear from me until then! Everyone is different so don't be afraid to let your desires be known.

How do you send final files?

That depends on your needs. If the file is large (typically 40mb+) then I'll create a folder in dropbox for you to access and download the files from. If they are on the smaller side then I typically attach them via email or in any organization software you use. Final file formats vary from project to project (ex. PDF, jpeg, png, .ai, html, etc).

I DO provide source files on an as needed basis. For example, if you want business cards and the source file to edit in the future when new employees come on.

Project Initiation

Do you take on last-minute designs/projects?

That depends on the scale and scope. Will I pump out a business card a week before it is needed? Sure! Will I create a new brand identity with 2 weeks to go? Most likely not unless you are paying a million dollars, which is unrealistic pricing of course. Even then, my mental health might take a deep dive. Reach out to me with more details so I can have a better idea if your project is a good fit for me or not.

Can I hire you for additional design work in the future?

You can hire me anytime and anywhere for design work! All you need to do is send an email or text asking about my availability for upcoming work and I will respond within 1-2 business days.

Do we NEED to meet (virtually or in person) before working together?

Absolutely not! My introverted side says thank you. However, do keep in mind that at least one prior meeting tremendously aids in my design process and understanding your needs better.

How far ahead should I contact you for a project?

The earlier the better! When you contact me earlier you get your work earlier and that leaves room for extra tinkering if needed.

Experience & Background

Do you work by yourself or do you outsource any of your work?

It's just me! I have no current desire to onboard another designer.

How long have you been designing?  What industries have you designed for?

Since 2019! (I know. It somehow seems so recent yet so long ago). I've been around the block in terms of design and positions. I've been with tech, start ups, pet care, education, nonprofits, and pharmaceutical companies. I've worked in different capacities from Jr. Graphic Designer to Marketing & Communications Specialist. Now, I work full-time as a Freelance Graphic Designer.

What is your educational background?

I attended Maryville University of Saint Louis for a traditional 4 year degree. I graduated in 2022 with my BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts).

Intellectual Property & Legal

How do you handle intellectual property rights for the designs?

I understand that clients prefer to own the intellectual property rights to final approved designs, which is why I design with that in mind. Once final designs are passed on - clients are free to use, modify, and reproduce designs as desired. Unless requested contractually, I often retain the right to showcase the work in my portfolio. This allows me to showcase my skillset to other potential clients. If third-party materials are used in designs (ie stock photography), I ensure compliance with licensing terms for commercial usage.

Do you require a contract for services?

I do not. HOWEVER, do note that contracts often protect you and I from potential miscommunication problems in the future or if any other problems should arise. While I do not require a contract, I do advocate for it.

What if I am not satisfied with the final design?

Yikes! I NEVER want to leave a client wondering if they made a good decision hiring me after the completion of a project. If this is currently you then PLEASE reach out to me so we can address your concerns.

What is your policy if a client needs to cancel a project? Do you offer refunds?

A client is free to cancel a project as needed. However, if time has already been put into the project then the client will be billed accordingly. For example, if I am billing hourly and I have already put 10 hours into the project then you will be billed for 10 hours. If you are paying per project then I will not refund the upfront payment. My work is non-refundable.

Confidentiality & Misc

Are you available for ongoing design support?

Absolutely! Reach out and let's connect about your design needs.

How do you ensure the confidentiality of client projects?

Great question! I am open to signing non-disclosure agreements with clients to legally ensure confidentiality. I use secure communication channels  for discussing details and sharing possible sensitive information. If needed, I protect project files and documents with passwords decided by the client. I will NEVER share work that I have done for a client if they express that desire. I only share what clients are comfortable with me sharing.

Do you like donuts?

I LOVE donuts. Glazed especially. I am a donut man living in a donut world.

Do you have a question that is not found here?
